About Shelfordfitness

I was born in Zimbabwe way back in the last century where I enjoyed sport and physical activity both at school as well as in my spare time. Having attended boarding school for 6 years at Falcon College I was fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of an excellent education incorporating sport, discipline, academic success and also developed a love for Natural History.

After moving to England in 1997 and trying my hand at various occupations I decided to follow the growing trend toward Health and Fitness. After gaining my qualifications through Premier Training International I gained some experience working for various fitness facilities in Kent and Greater London before moving to East Anglia in 2002 where I set up as a personal trainer, sports massage therapist & body massage therapist.

After working in a couple of local fitness centres for a few years I then took over the running and management of the fitness facility on Granta Park in Great Abington. This centre went from strength to strength and eventually the membership out-grew the building so the park owners decided to build a large leisure centre on site that is now managed by Nuffield Health as a corporate facility.

Since February 2018 I have been splitting my time between personal training and massage at my home in Great Shelford, www.shelfordfitness.co.uk and travelling to clients' homes where necessary.  I also offer discounted Personal Training to people employed at the Babraham Institute and use the fitness facility on the science park. Added to this I am employed part time by Nuffield Health where I work as a personal trainer & duty manager in their Granta Park facility.

I do have a life too and when not working I'm very much into photography I photograph corporate events, weddings and portraits as well as indulge my love of nature. I often return to Zimbabwe for birding and wildlife photographic trips. Feel free to browse my photo site www.jeremysmithphotography.co.uk Travel, scuba diving and skiing all feature high on my list of interests.
